Facebook is testing a "Buy" button that will be placed on advertisments on Facebook and will allow users to buy products directly from ads without leaving the social networking site.

This button will be visible on adverts on both desktop and mobile application versions of Facebook, and also on the product pages that will connect the users directly to retailers.

"We've taken these steps keeping in mind the privacy of the users and to make their experience more safe and secure", Facebook said in a blog. "None of the information of credit or debit cards of the users will be shared with any third party or company, on successfully completing a transaction. Plus the users will also have an option to store their information for future reference."

This program is currently available to some small and medium bussinesses and users in US, and is expected to benefit both the consumers and retailers. Whenever a user clicks on the BUY button, they will be redirected to a ln external site.

Twitter implemented this BUY button concept this year that facilitates users to buy directly from ads, and Amazon implemented the ability to add items to cart directly through tweets in May.

While it is being tested in US, it is not confirmed when Facebook But Button will come to UK or Asia Pacific.
