Android One Smartphone release date set for October in India

Google has recently started its new Operating System Program, called as Android One, which may not seem appealing to a lot of people in USA, but it has definitely given hopes to around 5 billion users around the globe, who are yet to experience Android in their smartphones. As described in an I/O conference, Google has plans to introduce affordable smartphones powered by Android Operating System in the market. Google also aims to put an Android Smartphone in the hands of as many people as possible. This dream of Google will not only help people to have Android and smartphone experience at cheaper price, but it will also help Google to gain substantial market. The program, as described will focus mainly on the emerging markets of the world in the field of smartphones.

The Beginning of Android One

As of now it is not confirmed that which hardware vendor and smartphone maker will have the opportunity to be the first partner in the Android One Program, but as the rumors go and the trends are set, it can be Micromax to produce the sub $100 smartphone, under the norms of Android One. According to the latest news and trends in the market, this Android One powered phone is set to hit the floors in the month of October. It would be quite interesting to see the competition posed by Android One in the Market.

The Strategy of Google for Android One

For the purpose of distribution and marketing of the phone in India, Google could partner with one of the leading online shopping portal of India, Flipkart. It is the most popular online shopping portal of India, and has also provided a strong base to many products including Moto E, Moto X and Moto G, whose sales has broken all the records set previously. Flipkart has also emerged as a launch platform for many new entrants in the market. Recently, the Chinese phone maker Xiaomi (often referred as Apple Inc. of China) has put its flagship phone Mi3 on Flipkart to enter the Indian Market. Launching a sub $100 phone in highly competitive Indian market won't be an easy task for Google, as many local and other makers and vendors are already offering smartphones at a low price band. So to support its sales and for creating the awareness for Android One Program, Google has decided to invest Rs. 100 crore or 1 billion rupees to give this smartphone a much needed boost and a successful product launch.

Features of Android One

Talking about the features of Android One Program, the phone makers would then be able to make budget smartphones, powered by Android Operating System and they will also be able to develop their own apps. Even though the phones manufactured under Android One Program will not be fully Android smartphones, but they will surely provide the experience and software support of Android. Most important part is that the devices under this program will require minimal efforts to be updated. These phones will have the integration of Google Services and will be updated directly from Google like Google Play Edition and Nexus program.

While their is no official confirmation from Google's side about the exact date of launching of this smartphone, the time frame and the duration which is being claimed is quite enough. For any unprecedented update, we still have to rely on the Official updates from company. But one thing is for sure, whenever the phone will be launched, it will surely create a ripple in the market.
